Louisiana Tech University
I decided to pursue an accounting degree after I took principles of financial accounting. What drew me to accounting was a deeper desire to explore the why behind the how. I view it as a big puzzle. Everything has a place and I get to figure out where it goes.
During my undergraduate and MAcc studies, I served as an academic tutor for student-athletes in all business subjects, with a focus in Accounting, Economics, Excel, and Statistics, for the Athletic Department. I had the opportunity to intern with Childress & Castille, CPAs where I decided that I wanted to explore the tax side of public accounting.
I am a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Beta Alpha Psi, where I served as Treasurer and Co-Coordinator of Continuing Professional Education for the 2021-2022 academic year. During my undergraduate studies I was a member of the Louisiana Tech Honors Program until my graduation in May 2021. At the end of my undergraduate studies I was selected as an Outstanding Senior Scholar for the Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business for the 2020-2021 academic year.
I am currently studying for the CPA exam and will begin working this Fall in the Tax Department for Heard, McElroy, and Vestal CPAs.
