Loyola University Chicago

I began my studies at Loyola University Chicago as an undocumented son of two undocumented parents, uncertain of my professional prospects in the U.S. Obtaining my undergraduate degree was a steep, uphill battle as I worked through the pressure and time crunch that came with a full-time undergraduate program, two part-time jobs, and active participation in the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, but those experiences helped mold me into the successful accounting professional I am today. Through the DACA program, I was able to obtain gainful employment after receiving a BBA Economics degree; during the first year of my professional work, I became a CPA; and during the few years after becoming a CPA, I started to work on an MS in Accountancy at my alma mater. My professional journey has taken me through multiple industries, and to my current position as a senior accountant at a top tax firm, Andersen Tax LLC. I expect to complete my MS in Accountancy this year and am excited to see where it leads my career.
