When I was first starting out in a community college, my best class was accounting. Not knowing what to pursue for my bachelor’s degree, I decided that accounting was the most interesting one for me. Throughout my undergraduate program I participated in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. It was there where I found out that I wasn’t just interested in doing taxes, but also helping people do their taxes and explaining the process along the way. In my graduate program I was able to help students as a graduate teaching assistant.
After college I will be working for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Tax Associate. I am currently working towards a CPA and hope to finish it within the next year. I hope to be able to go into a more technical role and apply data analytics to my job, as that is what I am passionate about.
