Faith Harmon Perschke
University of Georgia
After having changed my major for the 7th time, my father encouraged me to try a semester of business school. I knew that I loved to teach but didn’t know how to employ my passion in a way that was right for me. I took my first accounting class and fell in love with Financial Reporting. I wanted to use my new-found love for accounting and passion for teaching together, so I decided to become a peer tutor. I was an undergraduate accounting tutor, and then a lead tutor until I graduated and became a Graduate Assistant with the same department I had tutored for. I graduate this May with my MAcc from UGA and will join EY’s tax practice in Greenville, SC. I hope to learn and grow as much as I can and eventually become an accounting lecturer at a university. I hope to help college students discover new skill sets and use them in conjunction with their passions to build careers they are excited for!
