Rebecca Shortridge
2018 Faculty Merit Award Recipient
Rebecca Shortridge is the Donald E. Kieso Endowed Chair of Accountancy at Northern Illinois University. Rebecca previously served as the Director of the MAS (Leadership) program and the Assistant Chair. During her time at NIU, she developed and taught a business valuation capstone course in the MAS program at NIU. Rebecca and her colleagues received the FSA/March Chain Innovation in Graduate Teaching Award for this class in 2009 and 2013. Rebecca’s research is primarily focused on financial markets, the impact of non-financial information, and various pedagogical issues. Her papers have been published in the Journal of Business, Finance, and Accounting; Accounting Horizons; the Journal of Business Ethics, and others. She served on the board of director for the FSA including a term as the President. Rebecca earned her Ph.D. from Michigan State University and her MBA and B.S. degrees from Indiana University.
