The Deloitte Foundation/FSA Faculty Consortium is held annually in May. The objective of the program is to provide accounting faculty with a better understanding of business issues, and deliver best practice information that participants can incorporate into their institutions’ curricula. The program is delivered as a combination of presentations from regulators, standard setters, practice and experienced educators at leading accounting programs. Prior year themes have focused on judgments in accounting, disclosures and contingencies, investments, revenue recognition, financial instruments, leasing, the current standard setting process, fair value measurement, international financial reporting standards, risk management in the Sarbanes-Oxley era, forensic accounting/corporate governance, and ethics and professionalism. Major funding for this program is being provided by the Deloitte Foundation. Full member schools and accredited affiliates are invited to nominate at least one faculty member to attend each year.

2022 Deloitte Foundation/FSA Faculty Consortium

We were pleased to, once again, hold the 19th annual Deloitte Foundation/FSA Faculty Consortium, in Dallas Texas. The generous support of the Deloitte Foundation made this event possible. You will recall that 2020’s meeting was cancelled by the initial stages of the COVID pandemic and 2021’s meeting was conducted virtually.

The 2022 Consortium program was entitled “A Deep Dive into ESG.” The planning group brought together a wonderful collection of academic faculty and thought leaders from Deloitte to illustrate the emerging nature of ESG reporting and the implications for our accounting students. The application of the consortium content reached all our graduate courses such as Tax, Audit, Financial, Managerial, Ethics and Analytics, among others. We enjoyed the company of over 90 participants during the Consortium.

A special thanks to our Deloitte professionals who contributed to the sessions including Katherine Donzella, Yoland Sinclair, Lindsey Schwellinger, Adam Gonot, and Steven Ward. We also appreciate our academic contributors including Barbara Porco - Fordham University, Kelly
Ulto – Fordham University, and Jeff Hales – The University of Texas at Austin.
