Carly Mika
The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)
Although both of her parents are CPAs, Carly did not discovered her passion for accounting until she enrolled in an introductory elective course offered at her high school. This course sparked her interest in the field, leading her to pursue an accounting degree at UTSA. Motivated to become involved at the university, Carly joined Beta Alpha Psi and later served as the Vice President of Public Relations. Throughout her studies, Carly has been honored to receive several academic scholarships and awards, including the Distinguished Presidential Scholarship from UTSA and the Accounting Excellence Award from the TXCPA Accounting Education Foundation. After her freshman and sophomore years, Carly interned at NuStar Energy in their income tax and internal audit departments. Carly then worked for two summers as a tax intern at KPMG. Following graduation in May 2022, Carly will sit for the CPA examination to become a licensed CPA in Texas. Beginning in January 2023, she will begin her professional career as a Tax Associate in KPMG’s San Antonio office.
