When I was growing up, both of my parents each owned several small businesses. I remember them working at home to prepare the financials of these businesses. My parents instilled in my sister and I the importance of proper budgeting and sound business acumen. I think that led me to keep close tabs on my household finances, as I constantly monitor bank accounts and record transactions in excel spreadsheets. My husband noticed this, and he suggested that I should pursue accounting. I decided to take his advice and took my very first accounting class in the Fall of 2019 and everything just clicked. Fast forward, I just graduated from the Master’s in Accounting program at Kent State University a few days ago, and I am currently pursuing my CPA license. During my time at Kent State, I had the opportunity to serve as Director of Events and Community Service for Beta Alpha Psi, and I also interned with CBIZ. I am looking forward to joining PwC as an audit associate in a few months.
