Eastern Illinois University
When I first entered my undergraduate experience at Eastern Illinois University, I was unsure of what the future would hold for me. I choose to start with an Accounting degree because my father and his dad both were CPAs. From the time I took my first Financial Accounting class that spring, I have never looked back. I fell in love with the ability to define the world around us through financial analysis and analytics. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I continued to get involved on campus. This was highlighted by serving in three executive positions for Student Government over three years, including sitting on the Board of Trustees of EIU as the Student Trustee my Junior year.
Professionally, I have had the opportunity to complete two corporate accounting internships with Caterpillar Inc. The first one focused on Internal Auditing at the wholly owned subsidiary of Kemper Valve & Fittings in Island Lake, Illinois, while for the second one I remotely worked with an operations support team based around San Antonio, Texas. I was also given the opportunity to work a Spring Tax Internship on a team focused on C-Corporations and Partnerships for Crowe, LLP in Chicago, Illinois. Following the completion of my master’s degree this May, I am thrilled to be starting my career with Caterpillar, Inc.
