East Tennessee State University
At the start of my second year at ETSU I decided to take an intro accounting class. I did not know what my major would be at this point, but my sister was an accountant and I wanted to learn more about it. I enjoyed the class very much and it kept my interest. Later that year I declared it as my major because of how much I enjoyed and because it made sense to me. I also knew that there were many career path choices within accounting; it was a perfect fit for me. I have gained real world accounting experience during my time in school. The past three years I have participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program here at ETSU. In addition to that I have had internships at NN Inc and at David Frizzell, CPA. My career goal after graduating is to become a CPA after passing the CPA exam.
