The University of Akron
I chose to pursue a degree in accounting because it allowed me to use my analytical skills to help both people and businesses succeed in achieving their financial goals. Another aspect of accounting that has always motivated me was the focus on ethics. I have always held ethics as one of the most important aspect of life. I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to participate in a field that holds ethical behavior as one of its cornerstone principles. While at The University of Akron, I had the opportunity to work with faculty members on several research projects, such as an analysis of a then recent tax court case, that helped expand my understanding of the field. After graduation, I will be joining Cohen & Co. as a tax staff accountant where I will have the opportunity to apply all the tangible and intangible skills that I have learned at The University of Akron to help their clients achieve their financial goals.
