Texas State University

My motivation to pursue a degree in accounting started my junior year of high school. I decided I wanted to attend Texas State University, so the next step was to pick a degree. My parents recognized the success of CPAs and the demand there is for the accounting profession, so they suggested I get my business degree in accounting. After my first class of Intro to Financial Accounting, I knew this was the right path for me. I graduated from Texas State University Summa Cum Laude with a B.B.A. in Accounting in May of 2020. I am graduating from Texas State University again this May 2021 with a Master of Accountancy degree (MAcy).

During my undergraduate degree and throughout the MAcy program I have been involved in several organizations including Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Accounting Club, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). In July 2020 I completed a two-week virtual internship with PwC and accepted a full-time offer in the Austin office. Following graduation, I will begin my professional career as a tax associate at PwC this July. I will also begin preparing for the CPA exams.
