Stuart Alden Beaman
I came by accounting during a stint as an analyst at a boutique wealth management firm. In order to ease the burden on our lone staff accountant, I was trained in the firm’s accounting system. I discovered the work was more in line with the business problems that intrigued me. Soon afterwards I had the opportunity to go back to school and based on my experience I naturally chose to pursue an accounting degree.
Outside of DePaul, I participate in the IRS’s VITA program and serve as treasurer for Forget Me Not Theatre Company. Come the summer, I will be joining RSM in their Chicago-based MWD Tax department as an associate. My main career goal is attaining a PhD in Accounting with a focus on tax policy analysis.
